Positive Handling
at Reintegreat
At Reintegreat Education Solutions, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where all students can thrive. We know that some of our learners may face social, emotional, or behavioural challenges, and we ensure staff are equipped with the right strategies to support them effectively.
Team Teach
Reintegreat is a Team Teach school. Team Teach provides nationally recognised training in holistic positive behaviour management, which is delivered to all of our staff. This training focuses on:
-
Promoting positive behaviour in all students, regardless of need
-
De-escalation techniques to defuse challenging situations calmly and safely
-
Restorative approaches to repair relationships and build trust after incidents
-
Supporting the wellbeing of both students and staff
Our CEO, Nick Reed, and our Behaviour Lead Graham Hall, are both accredited Team Teach Intermediate Tutors. They ensure that staff receive high-quality, consistent training and refreshers, keeping our practice safe and effective.

Positive Handling
At Reintegreat, positive handling is used only when it is absolutely necessary and as a last resort, for example when a student’s behaviour puts themselves, other students, or staff at risk of harm.
Our approach is:
-
Proactive – focusing on prevention and early intervention through strong relationships and positive behaviour strategies
-
Supportive – using de-escalation and restorative practice wherever possible
-
Safe and proportionate – positive handling is only ever used in line with Team Teach training, and in the least restrictive way for the shortest time possible
-
Transparent – any use of positive handling is recorded and shared with parents/carers in line with our safeguarding responsibilities
Our Commitment
-
All staff are trained and confident in managing behaviour safely and positively.
-
We prioritise de-escalation and relationship-building to prevent incidents before they occur.
-
Where positive handling is required, it is carried out in line with Team Teach principles, our school policy, and national safeguarding guidance.
-
Parents/carers are always informed and involved, ensuring openness and trust.
