SEND Support at Reintegreat
At Reintegreat, we are committed to supporting students with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Many of our learners have experienced challenges that may have led to school refusal, disengagement, or behaviour linked to unmet needs. We aim to provide every young person with the support they need to access learning, make progress, and build confidence.

Types of Needs We Support

Our provision supports students with:

-
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
-
Cognition and Learning needs
-
Communication and Interaction needs
-
Physical and Sensory needs

We recognise that every learner is unique. Staff plan carefully to ensure that lessons are differentiated and accessible for all, allowing every student to benefit fully from our curriculum.

SEND Register and Support Plans

-
Students identified as requiring additional support are placed on our SEND Register.
-
These learners will either have:
-
a SEND Support Plan, or
-
an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) if their needs are more complex.
-

-
Where a statutory assessment is required:

-
For dual-registered students (with us short-term), the home school remains responsible for initiating statutory assessment, with Reintegreat providing supporting evidence.
-
For single-registered students, Reintegreat will initiate the request directly with the Local Authority and complete the relevant paperwork
-

Identifying SEND

When students join Reintegreat, they take part in an initial assessment period. During this time, potential SEND needs are identified through:

-
Discussions between Reintegreat staff
-
Conversations with the student, parents/carers, previous schools, and external agencies
-
Screening and baseline assessments
-
Classroom observations

Universal Offer

If no SEND concerns are identified, students access our universal curriculum offer, which is inclusive and responsive to individual learning styles.

Monitoring and Intervention

If SEND concerns are raised:

-
Information is shared with all staff
-
In-class interventions are implemented and monitored
-
Progress is regularly reviewed

Formal Support

If a definite SEND need is identified:

-
The case is discussed with the SEND Team and parents/carers
-
The learner is added to the SEND Register
-
A SEND Support Plan is put in place, outlining strategies, interventions, and targets
-
Staff review the plan with the student and parents/carers once every term to monitor progress and adapt support as needed

Our Commitment

At Reintegreat, we believe that SEND support is everyone’s responsibility. Our whole-school approach ensures that:

-
All staff are trained to identify and respond to SEND needs
-
Interventions are timely, evidence-based, and personalised
-
Parents, carers, and students are actively involved in the planning and review process
-
Every learner has the opportunity to succeed, both academically and personally

By identifying needs early and providing the right support, we ensure that our learners can re-engage with education and prepare for positive futures.
